Here’s a little about  the Visionary and why K.A.S.S.I.E. came to be…

She is…a Mother a Friend and a SURVIVOR!

Khrys Styles

I am a product of Adverse Childhood Experiences, (ACE) as I imagine many of us are, especially if you are here.  Some of us grew up in households where domestic violence was considered normal, not just physical but emotional and mental as well, it was just the way of life.  Regretfully, I have unknowingly invited the same behaviors into my home as an adult,  creating would-be victims of my own children.

Yes, I have survived childhood molestation, rape & domestic abuse. I’ve kept my secrets because of shame, self-blame, fear of judgment and sheer embarrassment. It wasn’t until I  lost one of my greatest friends – Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Betts, at the hand of domestic violence that forced me to acknowledge that our secrets can be deadly. I realized that there are others out there like me (us) who are still keeping secrets, living in dysfunction and protecting the perpetrators. I decided there has to be a better route to a ‘healthy life after abuse’ for us all.
Determined to work towards a resolution relating to the generational cycle of abuse. In 2012 I was moved to launch the now award-winning non-profit organization, The K.A.S.S.I.E.  Project (Keeping All Survivors Safe Informed & Emancipated),  naming it after my late friend.  This non-traditional initiative has combined God’s purpose for me, my passion and my promise to remember Cassandra’s life. I intend to promote awareness around the need for mental & emotional healing among survivors,  and to provide an outlet for survivors to  Share… Heal… Live…by working with such agencies as  The Cincinnati Police Dept. Ohio Department of Rehabilitation &  Corrections; We Must Stop Now, The S.T.A.C.I.E. Foundation, Sisters of S.C.P.A., Licensed clinical providers, Colleges, Churches and more to encourage & support healing.
Although an award-winning commercial & stage actress;  published author; accomplished radio & television personality; I have found that my sole purpose is to facilitate healing for the masses by connecting survivors in with others who share the same truths for the much-needed support they desire and deserve as they move into a healthy life after abuse! This is why The K.A.S.S.I.E. Project exists.

Won’t you please join me in supporting the movement to for survivors to  SHARE… HEAL… LIVE…?
