EYES WIDE SHUT’ is a part of the Healing thru the Arts initiative presented by The K.A.S.S.I.E. Project.
The ‘EYES WIDE SHUT’ vignette series will be presented on a bi-monthly basis at The Art Academy of Cincinnati. Each vignette will address common questions asked of victims of abuse such as; “Why we stay?”, “Why we don’t tell?” and more.
The initiative behind the series is to bring more awareness and spark discussion around the importance of speaking out, mental health stability, trauma informed care and the resources available in our communities. That being said, after each presentation there will be a workshop/talk back session with the attendees.
Each vignette is written and presented by a survivor(s) of sexual and or domestic abuse. We hope to encourage and empower other survivors to use their voices to speak out and share their truths in an effort end the generational cycle of abuse.
This series is open to the public and contains strong subject matter. It is not recommended to children under 17.
